The Opportunity

Ford has heavily invested in Model e vehicles and improving the Public and Home charging experiences. This position will build and own the Dealer charging program, inclusive of the public facing Ford Charge Network and the charging solutions used by Dealers for new vehicles, loaners, and service.

The position will report to the Senior Director, Global Charging Success & Energy Services and the CEO of Ford Pro Charging.

This role is open to candidates who are remote/hybrid.

The Position

The Director, Ford Charge Network will be responsible for overall ownership of the Dealer Charging Program across 1,500+ Model e Dealers, inclusive of our public facing Ford Charge Network and the charging solutions used to deliver outstanding customer experiences for new Model e vehicle delivery, customer loaner fleets, and service department needs. You will partner alongside the Model e Field Operations, Customer Experience, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Warranty/Service teams to create a best-in-class public charging network with a relentless focus on reliability. In this role you will provide strategic leadership, vendor management, and execution expertise to set Ford apart as the industry leader amongst the other traditional public charging CPOs.

What you’ll be able to do

  • Define and develop Model e Dealer Charging Standards focused on exceptional experiences for those using our public facing Ford Charge Network and traditional Dealer customers (EV sales and service needs)

  • Lead the cross functional team directly responsible for developing the strategy and implementing solutions to build and scale the Ford Charge Network, with a focus on access, reliability, and continuous improvement

  • Overall management responsibilities inclusive of Charging Hardware and Software Engineering, Product and Program Management, Dealer engagement and go-to-market activities, Customer Experience, Operations, Onsite and Offsite Customer support, and Warranty & Service

  • Drive performance improvements across the entire Charging vendor supply base. Hold vendors accountable, define SLAs, and driving continued advancements and Dealer / Customer confidence in Ford’s Charging infrastructure

  • Act as the primary Business interface operating in a matrixed organization with key partners across Model e and the broader Ford organization (GDIA, Finance, Comms, Integrated Services, Ford Pro) to deliver Dealer Charging products and initiatives

  • Drive continuous process improvement, standardization, simplification, and data/reporting enhancements focused on measuring and achieving Dealer Charging business objectives

  • Dealer and Customer Service focus – formalize metrics and processes related to Charging equipment issue identification, resolution, technical support, vendor engagement, and budgets to continuously improve the customer charging experience

Functional & Technical Knowledge

The minimum requirements we seek

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Operations, Sustainability, or related field.

  • 5+ years in electric vehicle industry and charging experience with strong comprehension of public charging operations, fluency in product/software, Automotive Dealer engagement, and experience designing dealer and/or customer solutions

  • Ability to build relationships and a team culture of trust, accountability, and speed both inside and outside of the Model e business.

  • Knowledge of the EV ecosystem. Existing external relationships and network preferred.

  • Experience leading cross functional teams of technical and non-technical resources – a strong leader of people and businesses.

  • A passion for the battery electric vehicle segment and customer experience

  • Ability to lead in an agile environment

Preferred Requirements:

  • 5+ years in a leadership position with a CPO or Charging eMSP

  • Advanced Degree: MBA, Business Analytics, Finance, or related field.

  • Demonstrated collaboration skills and ability to build trust with peers and across teams. Experience in a matrixed organization.

  • Analytical problem-solver with the ability to synthesize large amounts of data to drive effective and efficient executive decision-making and own the end-to-end recommendation process.

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and plans to a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders to evangelize and influence strategy to executive leadership.

  • Track record of challenging the status quo to drive forward a strategic agenda; able to influence and see around a corner.

  • History of navigating ambiguity, establishing goals and crafting a plan in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high performing teams; s/he has built a followership over his/her career and knows how to elevate the standard of his/her teams.

  • Ability to make data-driven decisions through rapid iteration, pilots in market, and learning through feedback from real customers.
