The Material Handling Supervisor position is a supervisory leadership role supported by on-the-job training, development, and opportunity for career progression. Material Handling Supervisors are:

What you'll do….
Supervise, evaluate, and empower a team that produces manufactured products, and organize workflow to meet quality and daily productivity requirements
Ensure safety, quality, and productivity objectives are met through coaching standardized work, verifying lines are running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts
Drive to exceed personal/team/Company goals by holding self and team to high performance standards through servant leadership
Build strong interpersonal relationships with hourly team members, union, and management teams
Support peer team by training, coaching and developing newly hired and promoted Supervisors
Optimize throughput in accordance with budgets and cost objectives. Support Continuous Improvement and coach problem resolution to the lowest level through utilization of constraint management tools.
Meet FTT, inventory, cost, scrap, and supply targets.
Coordinate and schedule labor and materials to meet maintenance requirements to minimize down time.
Develop and Coach Process Coach, Team Leader, and Team Member performance.
Create a conductive working environment for the team(s) to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks.
Basic administration of supervisory responsibilities and documents
Cover as Process Coach as needed (i.e., vacations, illness)
Determine and correct root cause of downtime issues.
Handle system issue resolution
Identify and ensure that safety hazards and unsafe practices are corrected and addressed.
Work any shift in a rotating shift environment including nights, weekends and overtime
You'll have...
High School Diploma or GED
2+ years of supervisory and / or manufacturing experience
Working knowledge in Microsoft: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
Experience working with MP&L CMMS, SMART, QLSCM, TWOS, etc. type systems.
Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Validated ability to multi-task.
Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills.

Bachelor’s Degree
Safety and quality experience
Six Sigma: Black or Green Belt certified
Knowledge of constraint management principles
Prior experience managing a unionized workforce
Strong mechanical background
