Ford Motor Company Architect Customer Analytics in Dearborn, Michigan

This Architecture position will support the Architecture Strategy development and delivery for key Analytics projects in the Marketing and Sales Analytics Portfolio within Global Data Insights and Analytics (GDI&A). The successful candidate will understand how to leverage the latest cloud technologies and have experience migrating applications from on-premises to the cloud. The focus of this role is to develop a robust and flexible architecture to drive and support all marketing and sales analytics platforms. This position will be partnering with product teams and end users of the analytic platform to provide leadership and consultancy.

Overview:

This Architecture position will support the Architecture Strategy development and delivery for key Analytics projects in the Marketing and Sales Analytics Portfolio within Global Data Insights and Analytics (GDI&A). The successful candidate will understand how to leverage the latest cloud technologies and have experience migrating applications from on-premises to the cloud. The focus of this role is to develop a robust and flexible architecture to drive and support all marketing and sales analytics platforms. This position will be partnering with product teams and end users of the analytic platform to provide leadership and consultancy.

Role:

  • Technical cross-functional leadership for GDIA architecture

  • Provide technology leadership within GDI&A Portfolios

  • Drive the strategic architectural directions for application and supporting platform services

  • Provide thought leadership on application development, APIs, cloud technology, S/W craftsmanship and tools

Scope:

  • Cross-skill engineering teams, working closely with our internal partners in GDI&A, Enterprise Architecture (EA), and Enterprise Platform Engineering and Operations (EPEO).

What you'll do…

  • In-depth expertise with modern analytics tools and techniques, including data engineering and discovery, streaming analytics, and related technologies

  • Develop a well-defined architecture strategy to enable Data Analytics/Insights

  • Familiarity in providing technical analytic/data solutions for applications

  • Experience working with software development teams on complex projects

  • Experience in working with Agile and Lean methodologies

  • Experience with application security

  • Team management incl. develop team’s technical and leadership capabilities

  • Exposure to Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Generative AI.

  • Negotiation skills and ability to work with several and diverse set of stakeholders/customers

  • Exposure and experience with Ford Architectural standards, processes, and documentation.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate many services and a wide range of global business and IT partners.

  • Perform at an extremely high level of technical competence and maturity under pressure.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with IT and business team members on a global level and negotiate solutions and drive consensus across platforms.

  • Enable Product Lines to move quickly, while maintaining Customer Centricity by ensuring architecture disciplines are developed, shared, and part of Product Line delivery

  • Develop flexible architectures that enable quality capabilities that are leveraged across the company

  • Maintain a broad perspective across the organization to ensure all Product Lines are aligned and consistent

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.

You'll have…

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent technical discipline

  • 5+ years of experience working as a software engineer or software application developer

  • 2+ years of experience working as a software architect

  • Ability to develop a well-defined architecture strategy to enable Data Analytics/Insights

  • Ability to manage a team of five to ten people including developing the team’s technical and leadership capabilities

  • Familiarity in providing technical analytic/data solutions for applications

  • Experience working with software development teams on complex projects

  • Experience in working with Agile and Lean methodologies

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with a Cloud Platform such as GCP, AWS, Azure

  • Experience with Data Architecture and Data Modeling

  • 2+ years of experience with a Data Warehousing Platform such as Big Query, Red Shift, or Hadoop

  • Experience working with a Data Visualization Technology such as QlikSense, Looker, Power BI etc…

  • Exposure to Machine Learning (ML), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Large Language Models (LLMs), and Generative AI.

  • 1+ year of experience leading a team

  • Knowledge or experience in building or integrating with a Customer Data Platform

  • Two or more years of professional experience working as a Data Engineer or Data Scientist

  • Two or more years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

  • Two or more years of experience with Google Big Query

  • Experience with Master Data Management or Identity Resolution

  • Experience with Customer or Marketing and Sales Analytics at a large, consumer products manufacturer or retailer
