In this position...

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Foundational Architecture Director to lead our organization in the Software Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and driving the foundational architecture across various automotive systems. This role will include leadership in Functional Safety (FuSa), Diagnostics, Supplier Technical Assistance, Manufacturing Enablement, and Services. The Foundational Architecture Director will play a crucial role in ensuring the robustness, safety, and efficiency of our automotive systems.

What you'll do...

•Develop and implement strategic plans for foundational architecture across multiple automotive systems.

•Lead cross-functional teams and initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

•Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams.

•Oversee the development and implementation of safety requirements and industry standards.

•Ensure robust diagnostic capabilities and troubleshooting methods are integrated into vehicle architectures.

•Provide technical support and guidance to suppliers, maintaining strong relationships and evaluating performance.

•Integrate manufacturing requirements into the foundational architecture, ensuring a seamless transition from design to manufacturing.

•Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize production processes and services.

•Perform safety analysis, risk assessments, and compliance checks.

•Drive cross-functional collaboration and influence stakeholders to achieve project goals.

You'll have...

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in automotive engineering, with a focus on software architecture.

• Proven experience in a leadership role within an automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier.

• In-depth knowledge of automotive digital embedded systems; especially architecture and integration.

• Understanding of industry safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262).

• Experience with diagnostic tools and methodologies.

• Experience with supplier software lifecycles, and ensuring software integration between suppliers.

• Experience of manufacturing and service requirements for automotive systems

• Ability to set and drive a vision and mission

• Excellent leadership and team management skills.

• Ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and influence stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Comfortable communicating technically, and simplifying messaging, at all levels including C-Suite.
