Functional Safety Software Engineer

This position will involve developing and testing next-generation Powertrain and Driveline functional safety software in an Agile based enviornment. Primary focus will be on matching driveline controls with next-generation electrical architecture.

What you'll do...

  • Work in a SAFe Agile based environment

  • Given Technical Safety Requirements for powertrain and driveline features, develop and document a software design to meet those requirements

  • Implement embedded software to meet safety requirements

  • Develop a validation plan to test safety software

  • Participate the validation and debugging of the software using Software/Model in the Loop, Hardware in the Loop and Vehicle testing

You'll have...

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering or related degree; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.

  • 5+ years of experience in developing, validating and documenting embedded control systems software using either C or Model Based Software Engineering (MBSE)

  • 2+ years of experience in automotive powertrain or driveline control systems

Even better, you may have...

  • Masters of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent with focus on control systems

  • Proficient in Automotive Functional Safety (ISO26262) software/requirements development

  • Working knowledge of vehicle dynamics

  • Working knowledge of in-vehicle calibration development tools (ATI Vision, ETAS Inca, etc.)

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
