Product Creation IT, CAE & Virtual Verification is a key department within the Ford IT Product Development Organization. The Department is responsible for critical, software tools used in the global engineering community to support vehicle product design, engineering, and verification.

In this position...

The STAR (Software Tracking Acquisition and Replication) team is responsible for managing third party engineering off the shelf software licenses within the IT Product Development Organization for business-critical departments (Product Creation, Manufacturing, etc.). We interface daily with external suppliers, and internal teams such as, business IT, IT Contracts, Ford Global Technologies Limited, Purchasing, Office of General Counsel, Finance, and internal business in multiple departments, globally. We are adding an IT Product Management Specialist to the team.

What you'll do...

  • Manage a portfolio of 3rd party software licenses used globally in PD, MFG, etc. This involves working with:

  • Internal business IT and business teams to obtain software requirements,

  • Vendors and Internal IT Contracts to finalize contracts and amendments,

  • Vendors to obtain quotes,

  • Internal IT Finance teams for spending approvals,

  • Internal Purchasing to finalize purchase orders and special contract terms.

  • Manage the budget for the entire team. Responsibility includes:

  • Billing to internal business teams and joint ventures based on license usage or specific allocations,

  • Business Planning and Budget Setting annual activities, rolling up all forecasted costs, and entering information into the department’s consumption management online tool,

  • Managing team budget files, capturing day-to-day spend to plan activities and providing management with monthly reviews of the spending.

  • Look for strategic opportunities to grow the business while saving the Company money.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Finance, Accounting or related field or a combination of education and equivalent work experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Financial systems Aurora, Apptio and/or Nicus.

  • 5+ years of budgeting, business planning and finance experience with duties including but not limited to planning, contract/amendments, license usage tracking, forecasting, managing day to day spending, monthly reviews and similar responsibilities.

  • Master’s Degree in IT, Finance, Accounting or related field

  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail,

  • Ability to collaborate and work well with others,

  • Drive for results; commitment to quality; process driven,

  • Familiar with vendor Invoicing and Accounts Payable,

  • Coordinate funding on a global scale,

  • Executing software cost recovery to proper departments,

  • Provide detail analysis on usage trends,

  • Ability to participate in and support negotiations with external suppliers.

  • Process Improvement, Negotiation,

  • MS Project / Project Management,

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills,

  • Productive and creative with office productive tools – MS Access, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint,

  • Vendor Relationship Management,

  • Problem Solving, and Risk Management

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
