You will be a key member of the Vertical Electrical & Software Architecture (VESA) team. The VESA team owns the converged vehicle electrical and software architecture for FNV4 as well as the variations that might be made on vehicle programs. We work with experts in all elements of the electrical and software architecture, such as hardware, software, networking, platform systems etc. Key work areas for the team include developing a comprehensive architectural specification for upcoming (yet to launch) vehicle programs and to work with various functional teams to validate and document Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Our team will also be working on the evolution of Ford’s electrical architectures.

What you'll do…

  • Define the vehicle electrical power distribution and delivery strategies.

  • Utilize information about the different sources of power (e.g. high and low voltage batteries, ultracaps, DC/DCs etc.) to architect how different ECUs are powered

  • Gain an understanding of the features that request power, the resources they require and the modes they need to operate in to define the power strategies

  • Define the allocation of loads to the different power delivery ECUs, support the appropriate selection of FETs and fuses.

  • Build and utilize models to define and verify the power distribution and delivery strategies.

  • Support the packaging of the power distribution and delivery ECUs

  • Work with the Electrical Distribution Systems team to ensure appropriate selection of the EDS components

  • Support the needs of manufacturing, including In Station Process Control and Test

  • Support the systems integration and validation of the power distribution and delivery architecture to deliver successful functionality at key vehicle milestones (FDJ, DCV, TT, Job1 and beyond).

  • Work with various functional teams on the definition and assessment of key KPIs for power usage at key on and key off.

  • Work on the definition of power strategies for future architectures.

You'll have. ..

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering software engineering, computer engineering or related degree; or foreign equivalency degree, or a combination of equivalent experience and education.

  • 10+ years of experience with systems for embedded systems

  • 5+ years of experience in power delivery

Even better, you may have…

  • Master’s degree in systems engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, or related field

  • 10+ years of experience with power delivery to vehicle systems

  • 5+ years of experience with model-based systems engineering

  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical and software systems

  • Demonstrated experience with MagicDraw, Matlab or similar tools

  • Experience with scripting and data analysis

  • understanding of SOA ( Services oriented architecture) principles

  • Strong leadership skills and excellent team player

  • Ability to act as an open-minded change agent

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
