Ford Motor Company Product Development Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan

Product Development Quality Engineer must work with multiple organizations and individuals to improve thermal system content warranty performance. Functional application engineers, functional core engineers, assembly plant vehicle teams, supplier technical assistance, and suppliers are just a few of the interactions as we all work together to deliver a flawless customer experience.

The Product Development Quality Engineer is heavily focused on understanding and defining the problem, as well as any trends and behaviors that provide insight to the overall problem-solving team.

Since this role focuses on problem resolution and works with many different organizations, the learning opportunity is limitless… the greatest learning comes from problem resolution.

What You’ll Do…

  • Continuously monitor warranty data trends for improvement opportunities

  • Work with all interested parties to deliver verified and validated improvement actions

  • Learn and master key industry standards and Ford problem-solving tools and procedures

  • Work with all interested parties to deliver verified and validated improvement actions

  • Travel as necessary to Ford and supplier facilities to support issue resolution

You'll Have…

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

  • 2-5+ Years experience working at or with suppliers

  • 2-5+ Years experience working in product design and/or manufacturing quality

  • ability to balance problem-solving action and status-reporting needs

  • APQP / FMEA / DV Plan / PV Plan / Control Plan / SPC / 8D skills

Even Better You'll Have…

  • Powertrain cooling and/or climate control component/system design experience

  • Powertrain cooling and/or climate control component manufacturing experience

This position has a range of salary grades 5, 6, 7, and 8.
