In this position...

The FCSA (Ford Customer Service Analytics) team, part of Connected Vehicle Enterprise Analytics (CVEA) department in Ford’s Global Data, Insight and Analytics (GDI&A) organization, is looking for a highly skilled Senior Analytics Scientist. The Senior Analytics Scientist will lead analytical studies across all stages of problem formulation, model development, evaluation, and deployment to help Ford and FCSD achieve quality/service efficiency targets. The FCSA Analytics team applies advanced quantitative methods and systematic econometrics and AI/ML models to derive insights and solve a wide variety of challenging problems in various area of FCSD: RAV, VOR/uptime, early quality detection…through analyzing vast amounts of data including RAV, repair orders, repeat visits, parts order and supply, service, warranty, recall…etc. The quantification and optimization analysis led by this role will play a crucial role in supporting the success of FCSD business & transformation through data-driven decision-making enabled by analytics

What you'll do…

  • Explore/apply the most relevant quantitative modeling techniques and tools in statistical analysis, econometrics, operation research/optimization, AI/ML techniques to a variety of real-world business problems within FCSD focusing on improving quality

  • Lead the model framework design and model development to solve challenging business problems and build right product in alignment with FCSD Transformation needs and OKRs

  • Enable evidence-based decision making by extracting, managing, and exploring a variety of data sources and extracting insights from structured and unstructured data sets that are often very large and high-dimensional

  • Ensure overall quality of the data and solutions throughout the analytics development process

  • Maintain and enhance existing quantitative models supporting FCSD daily decisions

  • Integrate validation result and visualize analysis/prediction result through visualization tools to provide qualitative overview

  • Collaborates effectively with PDO leads, architecture teams, Product Line Owners to identify and manage dependencies, to maximize business value delivery

  • Assist in communicating and presenting models and analytical results to business customers and upper management

You'll have...

  • Master Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Econometrics or related field or a combination of education and equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of post-graduate work experience in auto industry involving complex quantitative analytics and modeling

  • 5+ years of experience in quantitative analytical work areas such as: economics/econometrics, statistics, Applied Mathematics, optimization / mathematical programming, etc.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience on a broad range of analytical techniques including forecasting, regression, Time Series, optimization and AI/ML methodologies

  • 3+ years of experience in at least one of the following languages: Python, R, SAS, MATLAB, C/C++/C#

  • 3+ years of experience in processing large, high-dimensional structured and unstructured data, including cleaning, transformation and integration.

Even better, you may have...

  • Ph.D. in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Data Science, Economics, Econometrics, or related field

  • 8+ years of auto industry work experience focusing on complex quantitative analytics and modeling.

  • Demonstrated strong skills in applying techniques from econometrics, statistics, and/or AI/ML to large, high-dimensional structured and unstructured data sets

  • Curious, high level of initiative, detail-oriented and ability to multi-task

  • Fast learning in theoretical modeling and coding

  • Strong problem formulation and problem solving skills

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and leadership behaviors

  • Comfortable working in an environment where problems are not always well-defined
