Ford Motor Company Vendor Management Specialist in Essex, United Kingdom

This position provides exposure to key Ford Credit strategic initiatives and requires an ability to communicate with teams across the whole of Europe and Globally. The role will enable the successful candidate to test and further develop their skills in organisation, communication and team work, as well as giving the candidate exposure to supplier risk and a key initiator in the development of Ford Credit supplier processes.

You will play an integral role in leading Ford Credit’s efforts in the development and maintenance of policy, standards, and risk framework pertaining to vendor risk management along with facilitating its implementation across disciplines, and ultimately helping to further strengthen Ford Credit’s 2nd line of defence to maximize the ability to manage risk effectively. Will collaborate with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders across Ford Credit Europe in achieving the right business outcomes in managing third party risks.

  • Be the subject matter expert to the business on Ford Credit's supplier onboarding process.

  • Provide ongoing and expert analysis and opinion to business owners and Supplier Centre of Excellence team to ensure third parties are managed effectively.

  • Liaise with Compliance, Legal office & IT Security to develop appropriate strategies in response to regulation and manage the work streams through the change process ensuring compliance.

  • Improve the processes and strengthen the controls for supplier onboarding across all locations.

  • Support the due diligence and onboarding of new and critical suppliers.

  • Manage Service Level Agreements (drafting, validation, signature, archive, and renewal processes) for intragroup outsourcing.

  • Work with the locations and key stakeholders to develop and deliver robust, harmonised and where appropriate, automated processes ensuring relevant controls and reports are in place.

  • Support key projects being implemented across Ford Credit Globally.

  • Drive project work streams to support flawless execution. Identify and manage associated issues and risks.

  • Conduct research to understand risk and gaps in processes and present findings.

  • Participate in development/enhancement of global supplier management protocols to ensure compliance with external regulatory requirements.

  • Some out of hours work may be necessary when engaging with our global colleagues.

  • A comprehensive understanding and experience of third-party risk management across multiple locations

  • Excellent knowledge and proven experience of working with third-party regulations including PRA, EBA & BaFin.

  • CIPS Qualified.

  • Experience with the management of Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for intragroup outsourcing that cover the operational, financial and legal relationships between the service providers and the beneficiaries of the services.

  • Harmonisation mindset and a willingness to challenge the status quo.

  • A self-starter, displaying initiative, commitment and motivation to perform with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to drive and manage change.

  • The ability to prioritise work effectively and balance competing requirements.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication and interpersonal skills as to deal effectively at all levels of the organisation in a variety of forums.

  • Strong relationship management.

  • Ability to handle heavy workloads and flexibility to accept ad-hoc assignments that require tight deadlines.

  • Good business acumen, initiative and a strong 'drive for results' work ethic are required.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent.

  • Experience of working with European and Global locations.

  • Operational Risk experience.
