In this position…

Driveline systems engineer for Super Duty and Commercial vehicle programs working with the driveline systems D&Rs, components teams, and vehicle program teams to ensure quality and compatibility with the entire vehicle system. The Driveline System engineer is the main interface to the program team from the systems team.

What you'll do…

  • Driveline Systems Leadership: Chair and lead driveline systems meetings for key programs, ensuring alignment with milestone objectives and driving effective communication across the team.

  • Driveline Sizing & Analysis: Create, maintain, and manage axle sizing torque charts and torque letters, ensuring optimal performance and durability for driveline components.

  • Problem Resolution: Lead problem resolution efforts for driveline systems during critical design milestones, employing root cause analysis and implementing effective solutions.

  • CAD Stack Management: Lead the resolution of CAD stack issues related to driveline interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with other vehicle systems.

  • Driveline Documentation: Create and approve driveline assembly illustrations, ensuring clear and accurate representation of component designs.

  • Vehicle Prototype Build Support: Manage the Vehicle Prototype Build signoff file, support daily build activities, and identify and document quality issues for future improvement.

  • Durability Testing & Validation: Manage the FEDE DVP for calibration, loads, and controls, ensuring comprehensive vehicle system level testing. Collaborate with the team to collect durability road loads and support Program Vehicle Prototype Build durability vehicle testing.

  • Continuous Improvement: Utilize the 8D work plan to drive closure and implement ICAs on all driveline AIMs, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

  • Team Support: Provide support to suppliers and Vehicle Operations as needed, ensuring seamless project execution and team collaboration.

  • Single Point of Contact: Serve as the primary point of contact between the vehicle program and the driveline systems group, facilitating effective communication and coordination.

You'll have...

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in powertrain system design, development, or testing.

  • Strong understanding of driveline components, systems, and operation.

  • Experience with CAD software and engineering simulation tools.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Proven ability to lead and collaborate within a team environment.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with FMEA, 8D, and other problem-solving methodologies.
