Ford Motor Company Product Development Engineer - Automatic Transmission Technician in Livonia, Michigan

This role is on the 10R / 6R / MHT / RWD automatic transmission team in Underbody Systems. The job opening is for an automatic transmission technician to oversee: prototype transmission new builds, testing / dyno builds, calibration builds, instrumentation, and vehicle testing work orders. This technician role will also cover current model quality and warranty work by creating and organizing teardown and inspection work orders.

The ideal candidate should have experience with automatic transmissions, experience with ATNPC staff, experience with ATNPC facilities, and have a proven history of delivering work by the expected milestones. This role will also need to interface cross-functionally with teams outside of UNSE, so strong communication skills are preferred.

In this position...

  • All RWD work orders at ATNPC.

  • 10R/MHT prototype build support in New Build.

  • RWD instrumentation build work orders with the machine shop and HMS.

What you'll do...

  • RWD calibration build work orders / working with calibration techs to maintain calibration fleets.

  • RWD quality and warranty teardowns and inspection.

  • RWD vehicle updates and vehicle repair work orders.

  • RWD prep for test for Dyno / HMS / Vehicle Systems / NVH.

  • RWD vehicle coordinator of the 10R / 6R / MHT / RWD systems fleet.

You'll have...

  • Associates degree.

  • 3+ years experience with Ford processes.

  • 3+ years experience with Automatic Transmissions.

  • 3+ years experience with ATNPC / UNSE staff and facilities.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Good organization skills.

  • Comfort balancing multiple assignments at once.

Even better, you may have...

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering.

  • 5+ years experience with Ford processes.

  • 5+ years experience with Automatic Transmissions.

  • 5+ years experience with ATNPC / UNSE staff and facilities.

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8 .
