Translating industry conformance/ regulatory/ carrier specification requirements into China specific modem requirements and test cases.
Work with cross functional teams in evaluating cutting edge use cases and deriving requirements for the modem across WCDMA, LTE, and 5G-NR.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure consistency of modem system requirements with longer term technology roadmaps.
Prepare and drive project decisions related to modem capabilities and roadmap.
Coordinating with regulatory compliance/ carrier management teams to ensure product validation covers all certification/performance tests.
Driven everyday problems solving to continually improve customers’ connectivity experiences under actual wireless carrier’s cellular network.
Mentoring TCU team and external supplier to validate OTA cellular test cases for different carrier/industry conformance requirements in certification test setups.
Mentoring TCU team and eCall team to develop China GB AECS test cases that can be automatically performed via Cellular Signaling Analyzers.
Bachelor of engineering, telcos, computer science, or a related field
5 years+ experience
Deep knowledge of communication system theory and wireless systems
Good understanding of 3GPP/ETSI standards on L1/L2/L3. Experience in LTE / 5G NR PHY layer / RF is a strong plus.
Familiarity with one of automotive level 5G Modem platforms, i.e., Qualcomm SA5x5, and MTK MT2735
Good understanding of SOC system architecture and SOC software bring-up, software validation.
Experience with scripting languages like Python on at least one of Cellular Signaling Analyzers, i.e., R&S CMW, Anritsu, and Datang.
Experience with carrier/ industry conformance radiated performance requirements like 3GPP, PTCRB, CTIA, ETSI, etc.
Strong knowledge of GSMA IoT and roaming standards/guidelines is a plus, i.e., SGP.02, SGP.32, TSG.34, IR.88, NG.111, NG.113
Good understanding of NG-eCall is a plus.
Good understanding of any RAT protocol layers is a plus.
Demonstrated background in modem feature evaluation and root cause analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in leading technical initiatives across functional organization and with external partners.
Proficiency with issue tracking tools, i.e., Jira.
Excellent English communication and documentation skills.
Highly motivated and self-driven
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with global team, support personnel, application development personnel and vendors
Ability to work in a collaborative, team environment and ability to work under aggressive timelines and sporadic heavy workloads.
Possess sustainability against changing demand from internal & external business requirements.
Be accustomed to operating agile and quickly to meet customer product demand.
Be able to communicate messages very effectively to internal and external organizations
