The Opportunity
The Director, Supplier Software Technical Assistance, reporting to the Executive Director of Platform Architecture and Prototyping, is responsible for leading a team focused on supplier technical support, with a specialization in software.
What you’ll be able to do
This person will:
Develop and implement strategies for providing technical assistance to suppliers regarding software integration and compatibility with Ford’s systems.
Manage a team of technical experts to support suppliers in resolving software-related issues.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align supplier software requirements with Ford’s technical standards and specifications.
Evaluate supplier software performance and provide recommendations for improvement to enhance product quality, along with reliability.
Monitor industry trends in software development to identify opportunities for innovation in supplier software solutions.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to software development and integration for automotive applications.
Establish relationships with key suppliers to facilitate effective communication and collaboraton on software-related issues.
Functional & Technical Knowledge
The minimum requirements we seek
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science or Software Engineering.
10+ years of experience in software development methodologies and practices added value in the context of automotive industry standards such as Diagnostics and AUTOSAR (Classic and Adaptive).
Our preferred requirements
Masters degree preferred.
Experience in implementing embedded systems including for safety critical embedded systems.
Experience of embedded Linux, RTOS and related DevOps systems
Demonstrated time in role leading a large multi-disciplined organization focused on delivering development efficiency.
Excellent communication skills both up and down the organization to achieve the desired results.
Critical Thinking: Demonstrated examples of applying systemic thinking, logic and reasoning skills to be able to identify opportunities, alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
Organizational skill: Strong collaboration skills, clear and concise direction coupled with an ability to move within the organization to complete work and balance tradeoffs.
Strategic thinking: Demonstrated examples of driving strategy from concept through to production.
