Ford Motor Company Technical Project Supervisor in Redford, Michigan

This position will lead a team to develop innovative process and technological solutions to solve real-life manufacturing problems related to cost and quality. Position Duties

  • Imagine an ideal, unconstrained future of manufacturing and undertake projects to help bring them to reality.

  • Develop an all-new manufacturing process to support new product requirements from conception through implementation, starting with process flow, product impact, FMEA, process design, equipment design, automation, feasibility, proof of concept, and launch implementation.

  • Lead a team of experts in the field of machine vision – assessing new technology, developing solution sets for various manufacturing applications, developing standards, and successfully delivering first implementations into manufacturing processes.

  • Develop solutions that concurrently engineer product, process, and technology to deliver a robust and optimized process.

  • Benchmark new advanced technologies and develop supplier partnerships to deliver manufacturing solutions

  • Teach/Coach/Mentor employees, peers, and leadership; document technical knowledge and establish standards.

  • Provide technical leadership to assure the delivery of system performance, and project management skills to achieve desired timing.

  • Ensure the identification of lessons learned and their application to subsequent systems.

Position Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline

  • Self-motivated, organized, curious, creative, hands-on, and collaborative individual

  • Energetic individual who can motivate and lead cross-functional teams to achieve things that have never been done before

  • Ability to think “outside the box” – to challenge traditional assumptions in order to generate innovative, feasible, and beneficial solutions to tackle complex problems

  • At least 5 years direct experience with manufacturing (Plant, VOME, PTME, etc) – preferably from multiple skill teams and with deep understanding of manufacturing processes

  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects at once with great attention to detail

Preferred:

  • Experience in developing and launching manufacturing processes, equipment specification and installation, and project management

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams, preferably in a creative environment

  • Knowledge and experience with Ford IT Systems

  • Experience with industrial automation and vision systems

  • Knowledge of Mfg 4.0 (Industry 4.0) key principles – data collection and analytics, AI, machine learning, IIOT, Digital Twin

  • Teamcenter, Catia, GCP, and other software experience a plus
