Ford Motor Company Test System Engineering Technician in Sunrise, Florida

This is a position for a Test System Engineering (TSE) technician. In this position, you will be working in a team responsible for the design and implementation of HW functional test systems used to validate performance of Fords next generation electronic control modules during environmental testing. The successful candidate will be working with the test system design engineers to build and troubleshoot new test stations and maintain them after their launch to the reliability lab.

  • Build new test stations per the design and install SW to validate test stations.

  • Validate test stations regularly with the updated SW and keep test stations operational in the Reliability lab.

  • Implement HW upgrade to all existing test stations and validate.

  • Troubleshoot test stations as needed.

  • Maintain test stations/equipment and make sure they are calibrated for future use.

  • Order materials for test stations and maintain stock of necessary material for future use.

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Associate degree – Electronics Related

  • 2+ years of solder, rework, and test experience

  • 2+ years of troubleshooting and analyzing electronic component experience

Our preferred requirements:

  • Excellent Soldering skills

  • Excellent hardware and software debugging skills

  • Basic knowledge of Hardware and Embedded Software systems

  • Knowledgeable on microprocessors, cameras, displays, sensors, and RF communications (WiFi, BT, 2G, 3G, 4G, 5G).

  • Working knowledge of industry standard interfaces such as LVDS, DDR, PCIe, I2C, and Ethernet

  • Familiar with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, temperature chambers, and precision power meters.

  • Motivated and self-starter

  • Excellent problem-solving skills in a hands-on environment

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Strong collaboration and leadership skills

  • Ability to communicate effectively.
